Tambovale Border Collies

Herding comes naturally to Border Collies as they are in a group of dogs bred mainly to do this job.  Alpine Ash Bandit, Scotty was brilliant.  He could herd day old chickens, ducks, sheep and cattle.  He would use his eye on the smaller animals gently persuading them to move forward, but if a steer was proving difficult to move along he would heel them turning them around and sending them on their way.  Here are a few pictures of my dogs giving herding a go.  I hope you enjoy this feature.
The dog at the top right hand corner of this page is Au Ch Tambovale Othe Mana Born, Manny is my right hand girl and works the sheep on our 60 acre property in Bairnsdale.  I would be lost without her help.  She will collect the sheep in the large paddock and hold them, without yards, so I can check on the ewes and lambs. Manny will keep circling them keeping them close to me I dont have to give her direction, except to get her to drop and have a rest, absolutly brilliant.

It makes me proud to see one of my dogs, coming down from my original foundation dog Scotty, has not lost the instinct to work stock.

Sheree Aylette is handling Wilson and  campaigning him in the show ring.  Wilson is over half way towards his Australian Champion Title.  He is not just a pretty face, he has talent for herding which proves he not just a bench dog he is a real Border Collie.  Thanks Sheree for taking care of Wilsy and loving him and believing in him.  Wilson has produced a lovely litter while staying with Sheree, cant wait to see his progeny in the show ring. I am looking forward to having Wilson return home next year.
